Once again, it would seem that Samsung has had a blowout quarter. Thanks to the release of its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5, among other devices, the company’s earnings increased by 80 percent in the quarter that ended in September, finally allowing the Korean tech giant to break its seven-quarter streak of declines. This was all despite the presence of Apple’s new iPhones and a ton of other competitors that have led many to believe that the smartphone market is quite a saturated one. All in all, Samsung increased its market value by $13 billion following this week’s announcement of quarterly financials.
Now, you may think that the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 are the Samsung devices to own, given how they both served as drivers of Samsung’s blowout Q3 2015. However, not everyone can afford these phones, especially if purchased off-contract. Fortunately, Best Buy has launched a new deal, as the retailer is offering big savings on some of Samsung’s unlocked smartphones, including a Samsung Galaxy S5 deal. Let’s get to those specials.
Last year’s Galaxy S5 wasn’t that big a hit as other Galaxy flagships, but that doesn’t make it any less of an impressive device. With the phone, you’ve got a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, a 5.1-inch Full HD display, a 16-megapixel rear camera, and other still-impressive fundamentals. Previously $499.99, Best Buy is offering it for $110 off as an unlocked device – that means you can now get the Galaxy S5 for only $389.99 and use it on any GSM carrier’s network, including AT&T and T-Mobile in the United States. The device is available in both white and black flavors, all for the same price.
Looking for something older and more affordable? You might as well check out the Samsung Galaxy S3, which is available for $249.99 (reg. price $339.99, $90 off). Back in 2012, this was THE Samsung phone to buy, and while many of its specs (Android 4.0 out of the box, HD display resolution, etc.) may sound archaic, they were actually the gold standard for the time. Or you may also be interested in this unlocked Samsung phone – the Galaxy A3, which is available for $250.57, down from $281.99. This is a midrange device with some rather unimpressive specs (4.5-inch, 960 x 540 display, quad-core Snapdragon processor, 1 GB RAM, etc.) but considering the discounted price, that’s a lot of value for a second-tier Samsung device.
We’ve got time for one more deal, and yes, it is quite a pleasant surprise, considering that it is this year’s high-end flagship for 2015. The Samsung Galaxy S6 deal on Best Buy’s website has the device selling for $579.99, which is $70 off the full-fat price of $579.99. Specifications are much-improved on the S6 as compared to the S5, and while some features, such as a removable back plate and SD card support, are gone, the tradeoff here is a more durable, classier metal body. The phone is available at that same price in white, black, blue, and gold.
You may have thought we wouldn’t be including this device and that Best Buy wouldn’t discount a device so new, but as we’ve proven with the above “one more thing” deal, you’ve thought wrong. If the Samsung phone you’re looking for isn’t here, you can always check the Best Buy website for deals, though we urge you to make it quick while they’re still available!
