The Apple Watch was first announced over a year ago and it was officially released this spring, though it wasn’t available in too many countries at first. And now we’re hearing that it’s coming to the Middle East, as Apple will be releasing Watch in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates on October 22. That’s just six days after it touches down in Brazil and Colombia, and almost two weeks after tomorrow’s big release in several European countries, including Belgium, Norway, and Poland. At this point in the game, we don’t know how many units of the Watch Apple has sold so far, but all indications point to a successful device that’s been a big hit since its initial release.
We have to face it, though – not everyone can afford the Apple Watch. But there are several other options in the smartwatch market, and if you’re in the market for a bargain smartwatch, you’ve come to the right place. Here are Best Buy’s current smartwatch deals, faithfully recapped with relevant information on each device.
The Pebble Steel has since gotten updated with higher-end fundamentals and more features, but the original device is now available for only $99.99 on the Best Buy website. That’s $50 off original pricing, and the best thing about this now-cheaper device is that it’s compatible with “select” Android and iOS devices alike. The device is also waterproof to a certain extent, and is made extra-durable thanks to its Corning Gorilla Glass display.
The Samsung Gear 2 Neo could be a good choice if you don’t mind buying refurbished items – the device, according to its description, measures heart rate, calories, distance, steps taken, and speed, and is compatible with select Samsung devices. Originally $199.99, it’s now available on Best Buy for $129.99 – even for a refurb, a 35 percent discount is definitely impressive. Likewise, Samsung’s Gear Fit, which is more of a fitness tracker than a bona fide smartwatch, sells for $89.99, or $60 off full-fat pricing of $149.99.
Then again, you may be looking for a starter smartwatch, a device that won’t cost you more than $50 and doesn’t come with too many features, but could still serve as a decent device for first-timers. The Agptek Smart Watch (yes, that’s how it’s stylized) costs only $36.99, which is more than 50 percent off original pricing of $80.99, and it comes with a pedometer, a barometer, a 1.5-inch touchscreen, but not much else. Buyer beware, though – out of two reviews, it has an average rating of just 1.5 stars out of five, but it’s affordable enough for most to take a gamble on as a starter smartwatch.
It’s been a while since the Samsung Gear S was released, but our final discount deal is also the biggest. The AT&T version of the Gear S is now available on the Best Buy website for a whopping $230 off, and with that you’re only going to be paying $99.99 upfront, with the key word here being “upfront.” That’s because you need to commit to a two-year AT&T contract for a device that supports Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi, offers voice control and notification/call display, as well as some fitness tracking features.
