Best Consumer Electronics Deals - H.H. Gregg Columbus Day Sale Now Extended through October 18Though, it’s since been proven to be a misnomer that Christopher Columbus did discover the United States of America in October 12, 1492, Columbus Day continues to be celebrated in the U.S. That’s been the case even if there have been several calls to rename the holiday, or focus on the greater cultural significance; such ideas have included calling Columbus Day “Native American Day,” in honor of the indigenous Americans who were soundly trounced by Columbus’ men.

Regardless of where you stand regarding Columbus Day, which took place earlier this week (October 13), this holiday also means new deals for tech consumers. H.H. Gregg had its own Columbus Day sale, offering a variety of consumer electronics items at cheaper prices, and if you’re thinking you may not qualify for these deals anymore, now that it’s been two days since the holiday, think again. H.H. Gregg’s Columbus Day specials now run up until October 18, and for all those shoppers planning to take advantage of these extended deals, feel free to read along as we help you scour for the best possible prices.

H.H. Gregg is typically a great place to shop for HDTVs on the cheap, and the retailer is currently offering a Haier 48-inch 1080p LED HDTV for only $379.99. That’s $70 off the original price of $449.99, which is, if you come to think of it, already a very competitive price to pay on an HDTV set. If you’re looking for more HDTV deals on more reputable products, H.H. Gregg has a nice discount on an LG 55-inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV with smart features and WebOS support; pricing is currently $799.99, which is a whopping $500 less than the original selling price of $1,299.99.

The above price cuts, however, are not as big a discount as what H.H. Gregg has on the Sharp 60-inch Aquos HDTV with 240 Hz refresh rate and Full HD 1080p resolution. 3D support and smart features are also included here, and as you can possibly infer, it did cost quite a lot, selling for $2,399.99 originally. It is, however, now selling for almost half that, or for only $1,299.99, a discount of $110 off.

If you’re shopping for other types of consumer electronics, H.H. Gregg’s Columbus Day specials should have something for you. High-end tablet buyers can get the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 for just $549.99, or $100 less than the original SRP of $649.99. The entry-level Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, on the other hand, is one of the cheapest full-size tablets out there, and it now sells for $319.99 on H.H. Gregg, down $30 from the regular price tag of $349.99. The Asus MeMO Pad HD 7” should be a good tablet for budget shoppers looking for a smaller slate – it costs $149.99 on H.H. Gregg’s website, though we must add that this is a full-fat price point.

Lastly, but not the least, H.H. Gregg has some deals for camera buyers, but we’d say the best one of these is the special pricing it has on the Nikon D3200. Purchase this 24.2-megapixel shooter with an 18-55 millimeter lens and a 55-200 millimeter lens bundled in, plus a camera case, and you’ll be paying only $549.99. That’s $300 off the original price tag of $849.99, making this a great deal on a DSLR this Columbus Day week.
