Curry’s Back to School Specials Include Discounts on Laptops and DesktopsWith August fast approaching, it’s not only American retailers that are launching back-to-school specials. United Kingdom retailer Curry’s also has its own back-to-school offers for students, and once again items are mostly limited to laptop and desktop computers. If you’re based in the U.K. and interested in taking advantage of these reduced prices and getting yourself a new PC right before the school year starts, read on and we’ll tell you how much you can save by purchasing such item at Curry’s.

Talking about laptops, pricing can go as low as £249.99 on select machines, including the Packard Bell EasyNote TE69 15.6-inch laptop, which was originally priced at £279.99. Specs include an Intel Celeron N2820 processor, 4 GB RAM, and a 500 GB hard drive.

Likewise, the Compaq 15-h011sa 15.6-inch laptop has a very similar spec sheet, also running on 4 GB RAM and coming with 500 GB internal storage, with Windows 8.1 out of the box. It is, however, powered by an AMD E1-2100 processor. Sale pricing is £249.9, which is £50 off the original selling price of £299.99.

A similar Compaq 15.6-inch configuration substitutes the AMD processor with a powertrain from Intel (Celeron N2810) and comes with 4 GB RAM and 1 TB internal storage; pricing is now £269.99, down £30 from full retail pricing of £299.99.

Buyers who are okay with spending more for a higher-end laptop have an array of options on the Curry’s website, including the Lenovo G5070 15.6-inch laptop, which is powered by an Intel Core i3 processor mated to 8 GB RAM, and comes with 1 TB storage. Pricing is now set at £369.99, a reduction of £110 off the original selling price, which used to be set at £479.99.

The Asus X550CA 15.6-inch laptop, on the other hand, is powered by an Intel Core i5 chipset and 4 GB RAM, runs on Windows 8, and also includes 750 GB storage. You can purchase the latter laptop for £369, or £80.99 off the original selling price of £449.99.

Desktop PC options are also quite plentiful, and these range from the Asus configuration with serial number K30AD-UK004S. Basic specs include an Intel Pentium G3220T processor, Windows 8, and a 500 GB hard drive; pricing is £269.99, or £50 less than the original price of £319.99.

The Advent DT 3411 desktop PC is another cheap option, coming with an Intel Core i3 processor, 8 GB RAM, and a 2 TB hard drive. And you can get this machine, which should also be great for business users, for only £399.99, or £200 off full retail. The catch? Both of the above PCs do not include a monitor as part of the deal.

Last, but not the least, we’d like to talk you through some of the top-shelf options available on Curry’s, including the HP Envy 17-inch laptop with serial number 17-j053ea. Specs include an Intel Core i7 chipset, 12 GB RAM, 1 TB hard drive storage and Windows 8, and you can get this machine for £849.99, or £50 less than the original price of £899.99.

And those in the market for a great high-end all-in-one PC for work or for school can go for the HP Pavilion TouchSmart 23-f311ea, which includes a 23-inch monitor, Windows 8, an Intel Core i5 processor, 6 GB RAM, and 1 TB hard drive storage. Pricing is now £699.99, down £150 off the full-fat price of £849.99.
