Featured Tech Deals on Amazon Include 4K HDTVs, Blu-ray Players This Week

Featured Tech Deals on Amazon Include 4K HDTVs, Blu-ray Players This WeekThe world of consumer electronics is quite a varied one – while every Tom, Dick and Harry seems to be shopping for a new smartphone or tablet and hoping to save some money, and while students are taking advantage of back to school specials and purchasing a new laptop or desktop PC for less, there’s much more to consumer electronics than these items. That could be why Amazon’s featured deals include several television and video-related products.

We’re not limiting ourselves to HDTVs here – we’ll be highlighting a few of these television sets, but as you’ll see here, Amazon also has some sweet deals on video equipment. Just what are these items and how much can you save? Read on and be impressed.

Amazon’s featured TV/video specials include a trio of Samsung HDTV sets, including the Samsung UN50HU8550 50-inch 4K Ultra HDTV, which comes with 3D support, smart features, and a decent refresh rate of 120 Hz. Pricing, which used to be $2,499.99, is now a far more manageable $1,597.99.

Also worth checking out is the Samsung UN65H8000, a 65-inch curved HDTV with 1080p video and 240 Hz refresh rate. You can get the latter Samsung set for $2,697.99, or $702 less than the original price of $3,399.99.

And if you’re looking for a TV set from another manufacturer, the Sharp 70-inch Aquos Q HDTV comes with Full HD support, 240 Hz refresh rate, and smart features, all for the low price of $1,997 – that’s about $200 off the original price of $2,199.99.

Talking about video equipment, deals include the Samsung BD-6500 3D Smart Blu-ray Disc Player, which costs $147.99, which is about 30 percent less than the original selling price of $209.99. The Samsung BD-7500, on the other hand, supports 4K video, and you can purchase this Blu-ray player for $197.99, or $52 cheaper than the original price, which used to be $249.99.

Buyers can also get big discounts off a couple Sony Blu-ray players; the BDPS3200 costs $88 (reg. price $119.99), while the BDPS5200 is a 3D Blu-ray disc player that you can get for $98 instead of the original sticker price of $139.99.

Streaming player specials include the Roku HD Streaming Player, which costs $61.98, a huge discount off the $259 price it used to sell at. The caveat with this latter deal, however, is the fact that Amazon mentions the item as an “old model.”

We’ve stressed before that it is possible to get a new HDTV set for $500 or less, but what if we tell you that Amazon’s featured electronics deals include a couple that are selling for less than $200? You’ll have to take note, however, that these are HDTVs from lesser-known manufacturers with lower-end specs.

With that having been said, the Coby LED HDTV with 32-inch display, 720p HD video and 60 Hz refresh rate costs $199.99 on Amazon, and the Sceptre E325BV-HDH 32-inch HDTV sports similar specs and can be purchased for only $190. While neither TV appears to be discounted, these are indeed two of the best prices one can find on a HDTV set.
