iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Deals – Refurbished Apple Flagship Phones Now Discounted at U.S. Carrier

on

Although, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are relatively new, having been debuted and released in September, you can actually save some serious money on these devices if you’re planning to get them as a Christmas gift. There is, however, a few small catches to these deals, if you can even call them that.

Buyers interested in purchasing a brand-new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus may want to pay very close attention, as the catch we were referring to is simple – the devices in question are refurbs. In addition, you’ll have to buy the devices under an AT&T Next plan, or off-contract. The deals are also online-only, which should actually be beneficial to those who don’t want to bother themselves with going to a physical AT&T outlet due to the nasty holiday traffic.

But with all those small caveats in mind, AT&T is indeed selling the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in refurbished form, with the former device selling for $100 off and the latter available for close to $150 off. These discounts apply to all variants of the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, meaning all colors and storage configurations, and if you’re worried about the quality of these refurbs, AT&T says that the devices are “Certified Like New,” which means they should be in very good condition or better, even if they’re not straight off the assembly line.

You shouldn’t be seeing any visible scratches or nicks on the display or on the body, and at first glance, you may not be able to guess that the item is a refurb. That should allay the concerns of those who don’t want to settle for a refurb, though we can’t force you either if you decide not to take any chances and shop around for a brand-new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

Buyers will get an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus with Apple EarPods (with remote control and inline microphone) included in the package, a USB-compatible charger, and a Lightning cable. That’s standard out-of-the-box equipment for all iPhones, so you need not worry either about an accessory or two not being available. However, you’ll only be getting a 90-day warranty instead of the one-year warranty you get with a new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus; chances are you won’t be able to buy Apple’s official AppleCare+ insurance product as the items on sale are refurbs, though you can still insure your phone via AT&T or through a third-party company. iPhone 6 warranties typically cost $99 for two years of coverage, which will definitely negate the saving, but provide you in turn with insurance in case your phone gets accidentally damaged.

For a quick breakdown of pricing, the 16 GB iPhone 6 will cost you $552.49 if purchased outright, or $18.42/month on a AT&T Next 24 plan or $23.02/month on an AT&T Next 18 plan. The AT&T Next 12 plan will have you paying $27.63 a month. The highest-end iPhone 6 Plus, meaning the one with 128 GB storage, will be worth $807.49 (about $142 off) if purchased outright and off-contract, with monthly payments on the AT&T Next 24, 18, and 12 plans being $26.92, $33.65, and $40.38 respectively.
