MacBook Pro and Macbook Air Deals Emerge at Best Buy

MacBook Pro and Macbook Air Deals Emerge at Best BuyToday, the 2014 Worldwide Developers Conference will be kicking off in San Francisco, and all eyes will be on Apple and its potential announcements for the yearly developer’s expo. Then again, maybe not everyone is hot on Apple because of WWDC 2014; the company, after all, just recently acquired headphone maker Beats for $3 billion, and those iPhone 6 rumors are still firing up and becoming louder than they ever were before. For those who care most for WWDC 2014 rather than anything else, pundits believe that it may see the launch of a new MacBook Air with Retina Display, and iOS 8 and Mac OS X 10.10 should definitely be the primary focus, particularly when it comes to those platforms’ so-called “killer features.”

If you’re waiting for a new Retina MacBook Air at WWDC, we strongly encourage you to sit the fence on an older MacBook Air for now, but temper those expectations accordingly. But if you’re fine with owning a non-Retina MacBook Air, you may want to check the Best Buy website, which currently has a number of Apple notebook specials.

The 2014 model year MacBook Air happens to be on sale right now on Best Buy, and is currently filed under “Latest Model” for the benefit of consumers who aren’t sure which generation MacBook they will be picking up. One configuration comes with an 11.6-inch display, a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB RAM, 128 GB internal storage, and Bluetooth 4.0 as a special feature. Pricing is currently set at $854.99, or $45 off original pricing of $899.99.

Those looking for a config with more internal storage can go for the 2013 model year MacBook Air with 11.6-inch display, 4 GB RAM, and 256 GB flash storage. Other specs include a fourth-gen Intel Core i5 processor, and like most of the other laptops to be discussed here, a DVD/CD drive is not included. Pricing is currently $949.99, or a $50 price cut off the original list price of $999.99.
Talking about the MacBook Pro with Retina Display, available configurations include a 13.3-inch model with 4 GB RAM and 500 GB hard drive storage, with an Intel Core i5 processor under the hood. Pricing is $1,139.99, or $60 off full retail.

A second config with a 13.3-inch display also comes with 8 GB RAM and a 256 GB hard drive, and pricing is now $1,424.99, a decent $75 discount off original pricing. A third 13.3-inch Retina MacBook Pro config comes with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, and pricing is now $65 off, or $1,234.99 instead of $1,299.99.

We’ve reached that time of the recap where we have to talk about the “one more thing” item, and that “one more thing” is a 15.4-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display configured with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB flash storage. This should make it an ideal notebook for small- to medium-level business users, and it’s now priced at $1,899.99, or $100 off the original price tag of $1,999.99.

In case you want an even higher-end configuration, you can also get the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB flash storage; that’s going to set you back by $2,469.99, or $130 off full retail pricing of $2,599.99.
