Newegg Tech Deals This Week - Refurbished Desktop PCs, Laptops, Tablets and HDTVs Selling at Lower Prices When it comes to bargain-hunting, one of the best ways to save some money right off the bat is by shopping for “refurbs”, or refurbished items. These items aren’t 100 percent new or in mint condition, but are nonetheless guaranteed to work and sure to be in very good or better condition. But what if these refurbs are actually part of a retailer’s current specials?

That’s the case right now at Newegg, as the retailer is offering several refurbished PCs and laptops as part of the current week’s deals. Want to know how much you can save on these items? Join us as we take a look at those refurb specials.

Shoppers in the market for a decent productivity-oriented desktop may be interested in Newegg’s Acer Aspire configuration, which includes a Pentium J2900 processor clocked at 2.4 GHz, 8 GB RAM, a 1 TB hard drive, and Windows 8.1 64-bit out of the box. Originally priced at $399.99, the PC currently sells for $284.99, though buyers also have to keep in mind that that price doesn’t include a monitor; this will have to be purchased a la carte, or separately. Still, you can get an additional $28.50 discount by entering the specified promo code, thus knocking down pricing to a very manageable $256.49.

Also in the desktop category, you may also want to check out the HP Compaq DC7900 desktop configuration with a dual-core processor clocked at 3 GHz, 8 GB RAM, and a 1 TB hard drive, with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. This config will set you back by $219.99, or $80 less than full retail pricing of $299.99.

Newegg also has several options in the notebook category, including the Toshiba C55T-A5222 with 1.9 GHz Intel Celeron processor, 4 GB RAM, and a 500 GB hard drive. This Windows 8 laptop is currently selling for $249.99, a sizable $150 off the regular price of $399.99. And while the HP 2000-2d60DX 15.6-inch notebook isn’t discounted by as much ($279.99, reg. price $399.99), you’ll still be getting a decent-specced laptop with a quad-core processor, 4 GB RAM, and 500 GB hard drive space.

Another option worth checking out would be the Asus VivoTab Smart ME400 touchscreen tablet, which stands out as the only tablet listed among Newegg’s discounted refurbs, and one of the heaviest-discounted devices available; pricing is $169.99 (reg. price $399.99), and that’s going to get you a device with a 10.1-inch display, 1.8 GHz dual-core processor, 2 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, and Windows 8.

We’ve touched on desktops, laptops, and included one tablet, but probably you’re wondering if Newegg has any refurbished HDTVs selling on the cheap. The answer to the question happens to be a resounding “yes”, and one of the TVs we would highly recommend would be the LG 55-inch Class 1080p 60 Hz LED TV, which is normally priced at $759.99. Purchasing the TV now, however, would have you paying just $499.99, which is a huge $260 discount off the original price tag, and one good way for you to save some serious money on your next HDTV purchase.
