Newegg Week-Long Price Busters Include HDTVs, Digital Cameras

Newegg Week-Long Price Busters Include HDTVs, Digital CamerasFather’s Day might not be for a few more weeks, but Newegg is, as early as now, preparing for the event by making it the theme of its latest week-long price busters. “Week-long price busters” may be a misnomer in a way, as Newegg, like many other leading retailers in the U.S., offers discounted prices on tech items all year round, but in the spirit of Father’s Day, Newegg’s consumer electronics specials have been made extra-special, meaning even more affordable to the average buyer. Let’s take a look at those week-long pre-Father’s Day deals on Newegg.

You can’t talk tech deals without a high-definition television set or two, and the Changhong 42-inch 1080p LED HDTV is subject to one of the better deals out there for an HDTV set. Pricing is only $309.99, or $120 less than the original price of $429.99, and the TV also comes with direct LED technology and an “enhanced” refresh rate (or motion rate) of 120 Hz.

Newegg also has a deal on a Samsung 55-inch, 1080p, 240 Hz 3D Smart LED HDTV, and as you may expect, it’s not only bigger, but also substantially pricier than the Changhong TV mentioned above. Features include Micro Dimming Pro, Samsung’s proprietary Clear Motion Rate 960 technology, and other smart functionalities, and pricing is a very competitive (in relation to the original price) $1,497.99. Yes, that may still sound like a lot, but consider that pricing was once set at $802 more, or $2,299.99.

Also included among Newegg’s deals are several home audio/home entertainment specials, including the Definitive Technology Studio Monitor 350, which costs $199.99, or $300 less than the original price tag of $499.99. The Polk Audio RM510 5.1 CH High Performance Home Theater Speaker System, on the other hand, comes with a 100-watt subwoofer as one of its key features, and it costs $399.99, or $200 off the original price tag of $599.99.

And if you want one of the biggest discounts out there in this particular consumer electronics category, the JBL Studio 180 6.5-inch 3-Way Floorstanding Speaker costs $99.99, which is a mere fraction of the usual selling price of $349.99, or a whopping $250 off.

It’s but fitting that Newegg is focusing mainly on consumer electronics devices that aren’t phones or tablets, because let’s face it – that may be too predictable for a Father’s Day gift, and a lot of today’s hottest and most exciting flagship phones are a bit too new to be discounted for a particularly long time, or a particularly large amount of money. The Olympus Stylus XZ-2 12-megapixel Compact Camera is the only item currently filed under Digital Cameras, and it also comes with Olympus’ proprietary TruePic VI Image Processor, and a 27-108 millimeter f/1.8-2.5 lens bundled in. Sale pricing is currently $299, or about 50 percent off the original price of $599.

Just in case you checked out the TVs mentioned above and found $1,497 too much to pay for a 50- or 55-inch HDTV, our final item, or our “one more thing” item for this recap, is the Seiki SE50UY04 50-inch Class 4K Ultra HDTV, which has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a very affordable price of $699.99, or $50 less than the original pricing of $1,199.99.
