Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Deal Emerges as World Series Heats Up

on

This year’s Major League Baseball World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals is shaping up to be a pretty intense one, as it often is, but what could be more intense, regardless if you’re a baseball fan or not, is the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 deal that’s now available mere days after the device’s official U.S. release date.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Deal Emerges as World Series Heats Up

As a backgrounder of sorts, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is a very premium device in terms of pricing. That’s the way it has always been, as Galaxy Note phablets have, and still cost $299.99 on a two-year contract for most carrier options. Off-contract pricing depends on which carrier or retailer you choose, but would normally vary between $700 and $800. Either way, the Galaxy Note 4 is a big investment, and it certainly wouldn’t hurt to buy the device as part of a special deal. There haven’t been too many at the moment, but one of them is a World Series-themed deal from T-Mobile.

T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 4 deal can be found on the carrier’s website, and as the Uncarrier is one of MLB’s leading sponsors, it is reducing the price of recent Samsung flagships, including the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, and Galaxy Note 3. All you’ll have to do is to enter the promo code “BASEBALL30” when purchasing any one of T-Mobile’s “new” Samsung phones and tablets and you’re set – this will give you $30 savings on your purchase. You will, however, need to decide quickly on whether you should take advantage of this deal or not, as the offer expires on October 28.

If there’s a caveat to this deal, it’s a very simple one, and something all consumers should be aware of. As T-Mobile eschewed the practice of selling subsidized phones on a two-year contract when it launched the “Uncarrier” brand paradigm last year, the $30 discount will not apply to contract phones. But $30, as small as it may appear in relation to the typical off-contract price of a flagship phone, is still a discount in any case, and you’ll end up paying $749.76 on the Galaxy Note 4 instead of the full price of $779.76.

There’s a separate deal you may be interested in if you want to save money on your Galaxy Note 4 purchase, but as you may be guessing, this is a “deal with a twist.” Best Buy is giving $200 gift cards to any customer who trades in a working smartphone and purchases the Galaxy Note 4, regardless of whether it’s an AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon Note 4. The offer runs up until November 1, and effectively knocks the upfront price of the AT&T and Verizon Galaxy Note 4 to $99, and the Sprint Galaxy Note 4 to $149. Also, Amazon has slightly lower prices on off-contract Galaxy Note 4 variants, but they aren’t too significant – for example, the retailer has a $20 off discount on the AT&T Galaxy Note 4.

The Galaxy Note 4’s basic specifications, to recap briefly, include a 5.7-inch QHD display, a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB RAM, a 16-megapixel OIS camera, a 3.7-megapixel front camera, and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
