Unlocked Phone Specials at Best Buy - What to Buy if You Can’t Wait for the iPhone 6 Plus? One of the biggest stories over the weekend centered around the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple’s new phablet-sized device that, much to the chagrin of consumers, sold out not too long after it was made available for pre-order. While this wasn’t too surprising if you come to think about it, this development has left many with the proverbial egg on their faces, and those who want the iPhone 6 Plus may have to wait at least three to four weeks before the iPhone 6 Plus would arrive, due to the device being backordered on the Apple Store.

But what’s to do if you don’t want to wait a month, or maybe two, before your iPhone 6 Plus arrives at your doorstep? Best Buy just may have the answer for you, as the retailer is currently offering a wide range of unlocked, off-contract handsets that just might serve as a nice alternative to the iPhone 6 Plus. With all that said, let’s take a look at these deals.

Currently, Best Buy isn’t offering any present-day flagships, and the iPhone 5s is still selling at full price, even with both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus having been made official. Still, we believe it would make perfect sense to spring for something like the Samsung Galaxy S4, which is selling for $436.58, down $44.41 from the list price of $480.99. While no longer Samsung’s flagship, the Galaxy S4 still boasts of respectable fundamentals, such as a 5-inch, 1080p display, an eight-core Exynos processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, and a 13-megapixel rear camera; the version currently on sale at Best Buy is the international unlocked model, hence the Exynos powertrain under the hood.

We’d even consider the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to be a very decent option for buyers, despite the fact that it’s now two years old. Best Buy has the Galaxy Note 2 selling at a discount price of $470.94, or $370.66 off the original selling price of $838.60, and for those who don’t remember the device’s specs, here’s a quick recap. The Note 2 is powered by a quad-core Exynos processor paired with 2 GB RAM, and comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and support for Android 4.4 KitKat.

And for those looking for a midrange alternative or lower, you can try the Moto G (2013), which is available for $213.99 on Best Buy – still, that’s a mere $6 off the original price of $219.99.

Earlier, we mentioned that the iPhone 5s is still selling at full-fat pricing. But the good thing is that the iPhone 5 is now available for less on Best Buy, and that it can be purchased for only $449.99. Apple’s 2012 flagship used to sell for $838.60 unlocked on Best Buy, and its specs include Apple’s A6 processor, a 4-inch Retina Display with 1136 x 640 resolution, an 8-megapixel iSight camera, and iOS 6 out of the box, with support for iOS 8 coming later this week. There is one catch, though, and that’s the fact that the iPhone 5 currently being offered by Best Buy is refurbished – this means it may not be brand-new, but can nonetheless be considered in very good condition at the very least.
