Despite the fact that Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S4 won’t be out in the market for another few weeks, third-party gadget retailer Wirefly has announced a special deal for the Galaxy S4, thus allowing consumers to pay less than what the carrier will be charging post- and pre-rebate.
To give you an idea of why this deal is so attractive, let’s go back to the release details confirmed for the Verizon Galaxy S4. The phone will be out by May 30, and will cost $199.99 on-contract following a $50 mail-in rebate; this means buyers willing to commit to a two-year Verizon contract have to pay $249.99 upfront to purchase the device.
As for Wirefly, the retailer had started offering the Galaxy S4 for an on-contract price of $179.99 as of last Friday, which may not sound like much of a discount. Still, the fact that the Verizon Galaxy S4 is getting discounted ahead of its release makes the deal in itself interesting for those who’d rather not pay $250 upfront for Samsung’s new flagship. The deal applies to both black and white flavors of the Verizon Galaxy S4.
Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S4, like other carrier variants, comes with the same basic specifications, such as a 5-inch, 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor from Qualcomm, 2 GB RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Though, not yet confirmed, it’s assumed that the Verizon Galaxy S4 will ship with a locked bootloader.
